Solartron Metrology introduces a 1mm measuring range mini probe.

Further to the introduction of the 0.5mm mini probe a year ago and in close consultation with partners in the OEM gauging industry, a 1mm measuring range device is now available.

This IP65 flexure-based transducer provides an ideal solution for gauging in confined spaces such as bores, cylinders, cones and other hard-to-access areas, that is compact, rugged and highly accurate.

The 1mm mini probe is based on a unique, parallel spring structure that is much more robust when compared to single leaf spring type transducers.  Its construction also ensures a very high level of repeatability both on and across the axis and can be used in dynamic applications where 3906 readings/sec is achievable with a programmable resolution to below 0.01 µm.

As well as offering enhanced reliability, the mechanical design of the probe results in an extended working life and allows it to be used in highly demanding applications such as in automatic gauges.

The 1mm mini probe is easy to install into fixtures and allows rapid on site tip replacement which are important features that further set the mini probe above the competition.

The probe forms part of the range of digital products sharing Solartron's Orbit Network Interface.  This offers the user a simple plug-and-go measurement and data acquisition system, doing away with the traditional cumbersome analogue conditioning amplifiers and their requirement for additional noise filters.
