Solartron Announces the Smallest Gauging Probe Family on the Market-the DZ Series

As leaders in the supply of metrology probes worldwide, Solartron Metrology has a very active customer research programme. Feedback from the market place has shown the demand for a new design of very compact gauge probes for limited space applications.
These newly launched probes of 23.5mm and 27.5mm give 1mm and 2mm measuring range respectively - a degree of compactness that is only available from competitors’ probes of twice the body length!
The new product line is designed to complement the existing range of miniaturised probes such as the ultra small, ultra short and mini probe families.
The new patent pending internal design is just as robust as Solartron’s world-renowned AX and DP series represented by guaranteed operation for over a million cycles. This reliability is often demanded in market segments, where extended sensor working life in hand tools and automatic gages is an important factor in customer satisfaction.
The probes are offered as a digital version only, which provides unequaled ease of setup, especially since neither the electrical zero nor the sensitivity need to be set up by the user.
The transducers are mechanically sealed using a Viton® boot to achieve IP65 requirements. Tips with an M2 thread are available to suit different applications; these can be adjusted and replaced in the field.
This new range reinforces Solartron Metrology’s position as the market leader in miniature probe design without any compromise in the key attributes of accuracy, repeatability and reliability.
